Applying Flea and Tick Ointment to Pugs

If you own a dog like the Pug then you may have experienced the joys of applying a liquid flea and tick medication. Sometimes the application goes on well and sometimes it doesn’t. Or sometimes the instructions say to apply down the dogs back while other brand instructions say to apply it all in the same spot. It can be a difficult task. You may need to ask your vet for a few tips on how to correctly apply it to your Pug. In general, you should open the tube of ointment and place the tip of the applicator underneath your Pug’s fur on his back right between his shoulders. Gently squeeze the tube and apply it down your dog’s back. Do not rub it and be sure to use all of the contents from the tube. Once finished, praise your dog for being still and patient. Always call your veterinarian Lansing, MI if your dog has a reaction. Learn more here.
