It’s a pain to clip your dog’s nails all the time. That’s one of the things that makes cats so great. They don’t have to have their nails clipped! However, there are definitely some occasions when clipping those claws is a good idea.

Does your cat like to spend his time scratching your carpets and furniture instead of his scratching post? Claws that are sharp can do a lot of damage in your home. If you clip off the sharp ends, he won’t be able to tear things up quite as effectively
.
If your cat is a bit defensive, and he likes to swipe at you and your family, you may want to consider clipping his nails. Dull nails aren’t as painful as sharp nails.
