The Right Way to Give Your Cat a Treat He Really Wants

The Right Way to Give Your Cat a Treat He Really Wants

When you think of begging behavior, a dog is likely to come to mind, but they aren’t the only four legged critters who engage in this behavior. Cats do it too! The trick is not playing into your pet’s begging behavior when he wants a treat.
Some cats get really excited when you open their treat drawer, while others may start yowling and acting out when you open a can of tuna. You can still give your cat his treat, but don’t do it while he’s acting out.
Instead, completely ignore his behavior. When he finally gives up and settles down for a nap in another room, or he finds another way to keep himself occupied, call him to you and offer him the treat.
