Plants to Keep your Malamute Away From

Dogs like the Alaskan Malamute generally love to be outdoors playing and exploring. They especially have a passion for gardens of all types including flower gardens and vegetable gardens. It’s important to make sure you keep an eye on your Malamute when he’s outdoors in an area you aren’t familiar with. There are plenty of plants that can be dangerous if your pup licks or eats them. The ASPCA has listed over 700 plants that can be harmful to pets if ingested. Plants and flowers to watch out for include lilies, bulbs of tulips, azaleas, elephant ears, a variety of ferns, and even the aloe. Signs of poisoning include intense gastrointestinal irritation, drooling, loss of appetite, seizures, vomiting, damage to the central nervous system and cardiac abnormalities. Not sure about a plant? Just stay away. If you think your pup has eaten something toxic call your veterinarian Scottsdale, AZ immediately. Visit this link to learn more.
