Catnip and Your Cat

Catnip and Your Cat

Catnip is an herb that can make cats run around, roll on the floor and act crazy. However, only half of all cats are sensitive to catnip. Thus if your cat is one who reacts to catnip, you are in for a treat. Catnip is absorbed by sniffing it. Your cat doesn’t need to eat it so you can put catnip in toys or blankets for her to play with. Your cat will react for about twenty minutes at a time so remove the catnip within that time period. After about an hour you can give it back to your cat for continued hijinks. Keep your catnip sealed in plastic bags when not in use to keep in fresh. You can even freeze extra catnip to keep in fresh. Trim your cat’s nails and protect yourself from inadvertent scratches or bites while your cat is under the influence of catnip.
