Cleaning your Chocolate Guinea Pig's Cage

Did you know that your Chocolate guinea pig cage should be cleaned once a week? A mixture of half distilled white vinegar and half water is a common cleaning solution. Before you start, take your guinea pig out of his cage and place him somewhere safe. Next, remove his water, food bowl, and toys for separate cleaning. Use a large garbage bag to dump the bedding into. You may need to use a cat liter scoop to scrape the bedding out. Next, spray the bottom of the cage with your vet approved cleaner and wipe and dry it thoroughly. Some guinea pig owners like to layer the bottom of the cage with newspaper before adding the bedding. Once your done, return the clean food bowl, water dish, toys and your guinea pig back to the cage. For additional tips and suggestions, consult with your veterinary clinic Aurora, CO.
