Buying Hay for your Rabbit

Do you own a small, fluffy, rabbit as a pet? Or do you have rabbits that you breed, sell, and even show? No matter what your rabbit does for a living (i.e. sit and look cute or win prizes), he deserves a natural diet filled with rabbit grain feed and lots of daily forage. The best forage to give your rabbit is what he would generally find in the wild. However, that’s not always possible and instead you can give him hay or some type of roughage. Talk with your vet to find out which is best for your rabbit. If you’re buying hay, you can buy it in the small bags at local retailers or you can buy it a bale at a time from your local grain store. If you don’t need a large bale, ask for a bag of hay scraps. For more tips, call your vet services Marriottsville, MD.
