Alternatives to Traditional Cat Litter

If you have a cat, you’re stuck with that stinky litter. Or are you? There are actually a couple of alternatives if you don’t like the cost or odor associated with traditional clay cat litter.

If you don’t like the fact that traditional litter is smelly and non-biodegradable, think outside the box and purchase stove pellets. They only cost around $5.00 for a 40-pound bag! The pieces won’t get tracked through your house either.

Corn litter is also an option, if you don’t like the idea of using stove pellets. This type of litter has the added benefit of clumping like traditional clay litter. However, it is a lot less smelly and it is biodegradable. It does cost about the same as traditional litter, but it lasts longer, giving you more bang for your buck.

Call your veterinarian Thorold, ON for help choosing a litter for your cat.
