Picking up After Your Dog at the Beach

Picking up after your dog is always a bit of a nuisance, but it’s especially important at the beach.
If your dog goes potty in the sand, it’s important that you pick it up. Because of the nature of sand, it can end up getting buried, which means some poor beach goer could end up swishing your dog’s waste between his bare toes. Gross!
Not only do you have to worry about your dog’s number two, you have to worry about his number one. Urine doesn’t disappear into the sand like it does in the dirt. It clumps up like cat litter, which can be equally as uncomfortable for someone to step in.
Because you’ll be picking up after all of your dog’s potty accidents, it’s a good idea to bring along more doggy bags than you think you’ll need. For more tips, contact your veterinarian Crown Point, IN.
